Meet Dr Harry
There are not too many Australian pet owners that haven’t heard of Dr Harry Cooper. The popular celebrity vet has been providing advice to animal lovers on the television since 1987. He continues to share his wisdom and make his trademark house calls every Friday night on TV’s Better Homes and Gardens.
When Dr Harry is not busy filming Better Homes and Gardens or fulfilling other media commitments, he lives on his scenic farm near Launceston, Northern Tasmania. There he takes care of a huge range of animals. At last count there were over 30 horses, eight dogs,
27 breeding cats, two house cats, 20 fantail pigeons, 500 chickens, 30 geese and turkeys,
15 rabbits, 12 guinea pigs, six coloured sheep and lambs, over 150 ducks and ducklings,
two rats, Wilma the pet pig and two Maltese X ShihTzus called Buddy and Holly. Dr Harry takes tours of the farm during the warmer months from October until May.
